A message from Budapest Cafe Orchestra

After yet another superb evening of entertainment from Budapest Cafe Orchestra, they've sent an update on the progress of their tour around 'Scotlandia'. If you saw them at Arrochar and enjoyed them (who couldn't!) - pass on details of their forthcoming gigs to anyone else who might be interested, or even consider going to catch them again before they head back south. If you missed them in Arrochar (shame on you!), they're well-worth catching up with!

Budapest Cafe Orchestra 2015 World Tour Of SCOTLANDIA continues...

Now halfway round this year's annual assault on St Andrew’s fair land, salutations from the boy band sensation of old Harringaria, all the way from the Isle Of Hoy.  We have utilised the antiquated clockwork internet connection here to write this to you from our idyllic windswept, tick-ridden, retreat in the Orcadian wilderness and we hope you are enjoying happy heatwaves back home?

All receptions from Stobo to here have been wonderful thankyouplease and it was capital to meet you all.  Last eve's Gable End Theatre show here on Hoy was another rambunctious occasion and our third appearance at the Island’s equivalent to Wembley Stadium.  We were even honoured by the presence of none other than the lady of Melsetter House herself, friend to HRH Prince of Wales, Elsie.  A foolhardy trek to the giant sea stack, the Old Man, looks very unlikely this morning following the Hoy hospitality received.

Thus far, we have registered two tour ‘firsts’: an afternoon matinee show (at Elgol) characterised by a family atmosphere which was punctuated by the stark west Skye daylight; and secondly our nightclub debut at Fusion, Kirkwall in which the goulash glowed effervescently under the pulsating light show, like alcopops on Ibiza.

Seven shows now stretch ahead to the finish line next Saturday - Stromness, Lyth, Portmahomack, Inverness, Strathpeffer, Johnshaven and Edinburgh.  Many thankings for helping us make these remaining dates as spectacular as can be by passing the news around any colleagues, brethren and acquaintances you think will find utterly compelling.  With particular emphasis on our two city performances:

Wednesday 10th June, Eden Court INVERNESS, 8pm

Saturday 13th June, Summerhall EDINBURGH, 8pm

With much love and warm wishes,

Until soon again,
