Future Projects

The Trust is pursuing a number of new initiatives, which respond to its aims/objectives and the Community Action Plan, published in 2003.

As a community development agency, the Trust welcomes approaches from individuals and community groups with new project ideas and aims to offer as much support as possible to enable these ideas to be realised. If you would like to discuss an idea, please contact us or leave your comment in the Suggestion Box in the Hall.

Community Visitor and Heritage Attraction

Arrochar and Tarbet Community Development Trust is considering the possibility of developing a Community Enterprise Visitor and Heritage Centre. It was awarded £10,000 from the Big Lottery's 'Investing in Ideas' fund and £5,000 from Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park to fund a Feasibility Study to consider the practicalities of such a development. Hydro Scheme

The Trust has been considering the possibility of being part of a community hydro-electric generating scheme. Sadly it look like this is no longer a viable option. Click here to find out more.

Pontoon Development

The development of a pontoon is a long-term ambition of the Trust and the Community Council, offering a marine gateway to Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. It is hoped that appropriate funding opportunities can be identified for this project in the not too distant future. A full marine engineer’s report has been completed to this end, and outline planning permission has been granted.
