Possible Community Hydro Scheme
The Community Development Trust are looking into the possibility of developing a community hydro-electric scheme, in conjunction with Luss, with support from Luss Estates.
Trust Chairman Duncan Maclachlan outlined the proposal at an open meeting last night (28th November), where the possible pros and cons were pointed out. John MacDonald from 'Here We Are' at Cairndow was on hand to offer advice in light of their recent experiences with their Merk Hydro Scheme.
Although there's a long way to go, the meeting supported the idea of conducting a Feasibility Study to assess the chances of such a project being profitable, and a steering group was formed to carry this forward.
